<h1>HYPGEOMDIST Function</h1>
<p>The <b>HYPGEOMDIST</b> function is one of the <a href="../UsageInstructions/InsertFunction.htm#statistical" onclick="onhyperlinkclick(this)">statistical functions</a>. It is used to return the hypergeometric distribution, the probability of a given number of sample successes, given the sample size, population successes, and population size.</p>
<h3>Syntax</h3>
<p><b><em>HYPGEOMDIST(sample_s, number_sample, population_s, number_pop, cumulative)</em></b></p>
<p>The <b>HYPGEOMDIST</b> function has the following arguments:</p>
<table style="width: 40%">
<tr>
<th style="background-color: #f4f4f4" width="150ch"><b>Argument</b></th>
<th style="background-color: #f4f4f4"><b>Description</b></th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><b><em>sample_s</em></b></td>
<td>The number of the successes in the given sample, a numeric value greater than 0, but less than the lesser of <b><em>number_sample</em></b> or <b><em>population_s</em></b>.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><b><em>number_sample</em></b></td>
<td>The size of the sample, a numeric value greater than 0, but less than <b><em>number_pop</em></b>.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><b><em>population_s</em></b></td>
<td>The number of the successes in the population, a numeric value greater than 0, but less than <b><em>number_pop</em></b>.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><b><em>number_pop</em></b></td>
<td>The size of the population, a numeric value greater than 0.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><b><em>cumulative</em></b></td>
<td>A logical value (TRUE or FALSE) that determines the function form. If it is TRUE, the function returns the cumulative distribution function. If it is FALSE, the function returns the probability mass function.</td>
</tr>
</table>
